Branch Employee Highlight: Yadush Bose

Yadush Bose, senior field marketing manager for APAC and MEA regions, has been with Branch for two years. With over 2,100 events managed through his career so far, Yadush is a seasoned marketing professional with a distinctly global perspective. In this interview, we dive into his perspective on work, his balance with sports, and his passion for the Branch mission.

What does a normal day look like for you?

My day typically starts with a quick huddle with my team where we discuss the day’s priorities. The majority of my day is spent working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute all the marketing campaigns and events. With extra time, I manage reporting on prior initiatives.

But when the day is over, I dedicate as much time as I can for football, because this truly serves as a stress buster for me.

What do you love about your job?

There are two main aspects of my role that I love the most. I love curating delightful experiences, and I love traveling to them.

I get to curate experiential marketing campaigns for everyone from CEOs to developers, and I love being able to design personalized experiences and then see them come to life. With audiences that diverse, I’m always challenged to be creative so the experiences I plan are just right. No two events or experiences can be made with the same thought process; I have to get into the shoes of the audience, understand their expectations, and try to figure out what could “wow” them. Throughout that journey, I have to trust the process.

Executing these experiences means I need to travel to them, and traveling to different places is definitely the icing on the cake. I get to see new cultures and people, and mostly it is a huge learning experience, which kind of humbles me and helps me stay grounded.

What made you choose to work at Branch?

I am someone who likes to move fast in my job, and Branch presented the perfect synergy of a fast-scaling startup with values that align with my own.

When I read Branch’s values, I realized that this role, at this company, is the perfect place for me to express myself best and develop as an individual and a professional. Branch allows an open culture where sharing information and feedback is made simple, and every employee from the founders to ICs are easily accessible. Branch is one-of-a-kind. If anyone is considering Branch for their career, I am confident that they are making the right choice.

What motivates you?

I love sports. Playing consistently requires self-motivation, so practicing that by staying consistent with sport is what keeps me motivated.

Branch’s hybrid work environment has enabled me to balance work and pursue my love of sport at the same time. I am effective in my role, and I get to travel outside of Bangalore, where I live, for cricket matches after work and on the weekends. It’s amazing.

Tell us something interesting about yourself.

I spent my college days playing cricket at various levels, which did not allow me to attend most of my classes. Yet somehow, I managed to graduate with Gold Medal honors in my bachelor’s degree. I think this is where I learned that you can work hard and play hard and enjoy success in both.

Another fun fact is that I have traveled to 46 international cities and executed over 2,100 events in my 14-year career.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I think I’d like to answer this in two parts.

First, “No job is too small to be done if it has to be done.” That advice reminds me that I am capable and aligns very well with my personal motto, of #allyouneedtodoisdo!

Second, “Keep the client at the center of everything you do for the business.” There is no business without a customer, so the importance of making a difference to the customer is imperative. I keep that in mind with all work projects I take on, and it helps me put my focus in the right direction and do what I love most, creating delightful experiences.

Tell us a memorable story about yourself, a coworker, or a Branch event.

To be honest, every interaction with a Branch employee exemplifies Branch culture and values — it is difficult to pick one out.

However, if I have to pick one, I would have to pick Leaders in Mobile Growth (LIMG) Sydney and Dubai. Both these events were just two days apart and in two different corners of the world. Of course, everyone running it couldn’t be in two places at once, but we needed to execute everything that was planned to the T.

So I sought support from my Australia and New Zealand colleagues to manage on-ground execution of the LIMG Sydney event while I traveled to Dubai to execute that event. Even though the teammates I reached out to were not used to executing events, they handled it beautifully. The event was a success through meticulous planning and briefing meetings where the whole team showed up as their best selves with interest and, most importantly, ownership. Two of my favorite Branch values are Ownership and Grit, and those teammates showcased them perfectly. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, and this was a true testament to how Branchsters come together when there is a need to roll up sleeves and get the job done.
