Branch Announces $60 Million in New Funding Round to Further Accelerate the Growth of its Deep Linking Platform

Playground Ventures leads Series C as Branch becomes the standard mobile linking infrastructure for over 2 billion users in more than 23,000 mobile apps across the globe.

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 12, 2017 – Branch (https://branch.io), the linking infrastructure for the world’s best apps, announced today that it has raised $60 million in Series C funding. Playground Ventures led the round with participation from New Enterprise Associates, Founders Fund, Pear Ventures, Samsung Ventures, Madrona Ventures, Cowboy Ventures and Ben Narasin. Branch has enjoyed strong growth across all industries and will use this funding to accelerate the adoption of its deep linking platform to greatly improve the mobile experience and unify marketing attribution across channels, devices and platforms.

Since its founding, Branch has evolved into a robust mobile linking platform with powerful solutions that enable companies to drive app growth and engagement across channels and platforms. Major mobile brands such as Airbnb, Pinterest, SeatGeek, and Slack all rely on Branch to power the mobile linking experience and achieve better conversions and bottom line results. Branch’s industry-leading deep linking technology and wide partner network, including the largest email service providers and ad networks, make it the one-stop shop for companies to build a successful app business with an optimal user experience.

“Links were the foundation of the internet, making the transition from one website to another completely seamless. However, as native mobile apps have become the preferred medium for engagement, those traditional web links have broken, leading to wasted marketing spend and leaving users with frustrating experiences,” said Alex Austin, CEO and co-founder of Branch. “Branch links stitch the foundation back together again, allowing traditional marketing channels to support the cross-platform native app experience, in addition to the traditional web experience. This funding will allow us to continue our core mission to fix every link in every marketing channel.”

Branch continues to experience exceptional growth with wider and deeper platform integration by companies of all sizes. Major milestones include:

  • Powering deep linking for more than 2 billion monthly users, up from 900 million last January
  • Handling more than 3.7 billion API calls per day, up from 0.8 billion last January
  • Building the largest mobile marketing Meetup community in the world with over 23,000 members in 55 cities

Branch’s robust deep linking and analytics platform is used by tens of thousands of mobile marketers and app developers to power their growth and engagement efforts.
